Beginning Sunday, September 21, 2025, the United States will implement a new fee of $100,000 for each H-1B visa application. According to the White House, this fee is applicable solely to new applicants and will not impact individuals who currently possess valid visas and are returning to the country.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt clarified on social media that this fee is a one-time charge associated only with the visa petition, not an annual fee.
Leavitt further emphasized that individuals holding H-1B visas who are currently outside the United States will not incur the $100,000 fee when they seek to re-enter the country.
